Women's Soccer Team Blanks North Central

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team upped its record to 5-3-0 overall by blanking North Central College 2-0.

Elmhurst moved to 1-0-0 in CCIW play while North Central fell to 4-3-3 overall and 0-1-0 in CCIW contests.

Valerie Wesley (Chula Vista, Calif./Academy of Our Lady of Peace) put Elmhurst on the board in the game's 10th minute. Wesley dribbled in past the North Central defense, and blasted home a goal from 20 yards out.

Courtney Constantino (Strongsville, Ohio/H.S.) tacked on an insurance goal in the 73rd minute. Constantino caught North Central's goalkeeper, Elise Manzie, out of the goal box and headed a ball past the Cardinals' keeper and into the back of the net.

Jessica Eberle (Bloomington, Ind./North) had an outstanding game in goal for the Bluejays, recording 11 saves for Elmhurst and earning her second shutout of the year.

Elmhurst travels to Wheaton College on Wednesday (October 1).
