BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road at the hands of Illinois Wesleyan in CCIW action on Wednesday night.
Jessica Eberle recorded nine saves in net for the Bluejays, but Elmhurst was outshot 21-5 in the defeat. Illinois Wesleyan opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the match when Alyssa Feulner beat Eberle. The Titans added another finder late in the half to open a 2-0 edge as Carolina Leighton scored the first of her two goals in the match. Leighton put one past Eberle again in the 56th minute to cap the scoring for the Titans.
Courtney Constantino, Kelsey Caldwell, Valerie Wesley, Sarah Harvey, and Laura Valgiusti all recorded shots for Elmhurst, but none were able to get past Alli Novak in net for the Titans (8-4, 1-1). Novak turned aside four Elmhurst tries.
The Bluejays fell to 6-5 on the campaign and 2-2 in the CCIW. Elmhurst will host Concordia University-Chicago in a makeups contest at Langhorst Field on Sunday at 1:30pm.
