WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team fell to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in CCIW play following a 6-0 loss at Wheaton College.
Wheaton, the two-time defending national champion, outshot Elmhurst 33-3 and controlled the game in the early minutes.
Brittany Bergh scored in the game's fifth minute to put Wheaton up 1-0 and the thunder never looked back. Ali Kopelman added a pair of goals and Jaime Orewiler and Kari Klynstra added a goal apiece before the half to give the Thunder a 5-0 halftime lead. MacKenzie Williams added a second half goal to give Wheaton the 6-0 win.
Jessica Eberle (Bloomington, Ind./North) and Allison Korbel (Schaumburg/H.S.) each played a half in goal for Elmhurst. Eberle recorded four saves while allowing five goals. Korbel recorded seven saves and allowed one goal
Elmhurst hosts Millikin University on Sunday, October 5.
