R.A. Faganel Hall
R.A. Faganel Hall is the home competition arena for Elmhurst's men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling programs.Â
The facility underwent a complete top-to-bottom renovation in 2020, with new paint, flooring, a two-lane track around the entire perimeter, scoreboards, and updated bleachers on both ends of the arena.
The east end is the main competition area, where Elmhurst has hosted NCAA Division III championship events in volleyball and men's basketball, and has hosted numerous CCIW Championship events throughout the years. With a capacity of over 1,500, fans can expect a loud atmosphere with the Bluejay faithful filling the stands in support of our athletic programs.
The west end features a multi-use Mondo sport surface, designed to allow other Elmhurst athletic programs to practice in the gym during their offseason and in inclement weather, featuring batting cages and a sand pit for jumps.
The building also houses a racquetball court, dance studio, the Tom Roberts Family Weight Room & Tyrell Fitness Center, athletic trainig space, team locker rooms, and athletic department staff offices.
A historic venue both on the campus of Elmhurst University and the Greater Chicago area, R.A. Faganel Hall hosted Michael Jordan Basketball Camps for 11 years in the 1990s and early 2000s. One of the first buildings visitors see as they enter Elmhurst University, the west end of the exterior wall features a beautiful mural created by Rafael Blanco and Andrew Sobol, created to honor the University's 150th anniversary in 2021.
