ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's bowling team hosted the CCIW Championship from March 22nd-23rd.Â
The Bluejays, the number four seed would go up against the number one seed Marian Universit. Both squads would play in a traditional and baker match to decide who would move onto the semifinals while the loser would go to the loser bracket. On the other side of the bracket was Carroll University and Aurora University.Â
The Jays would just lose the Traditional match 857-841, while the Baker match would be a blowout leading to Marian advancing to the semifinals to take on Aurora after a 953-795 win. In the Losers bracket the Bluejays would take on Carroll University. The Jays would lose the Traditional match 854-771, while winning the Baker match 852-754. Both teams would then play a best of seven baker matches to determine the winner, with Carroll winning 4-1 in those Baker matches to advance to the semifinals were they would play Marian. Marian would then beat Carroll to play Aurora in the final with Marian winning the CCIW Championship after winning both the Traditional and Baker match.Â
Lorrie Decker was the best bowler for the Bluejays finishing 3rd in the whole tournament with an average score of 188.
Mary Graves would be next with an average score of 165.5,
Teresa Duffrin with an average score of 157.5,
Kylie Fiermuga would have an average score of 157, and
Hannah Melone would score an average of 138 to round it off for the Bluejays.Â

With the season ending that is all for team events, now the focus will shift to
Lorrie Decker as she will partake in the Intercollegiate Singles Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 14th-16th.Â
