ADDISON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College bowling team placed 11th out of 23 teams and recorded a 3-2 dual record at the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic.
The Bluejays 11th place finish is based on total pinfall.
On Saturday, Elmhurst finished with a 3-2 overall record in dual competition. Elmhurst opened with an 882-864 win over Grand View University. A pair of freshmen led the Bluejays in the victory with
Beth Bogdanich rolling a team-leading 213 and Larissa Howard finishing just behind with a 208.
Elmhurst followed with a 874-841 win over Western Michigan University. This time it was two seniors pacing the Bluejays with
Amanda Warwick rolling a 229 and
Alyssa Collins adding a 194.
The Bluejays won their third straight contest with a 931-751 win over the University of Illinois. Warwick narrowly missed a 200-game, leading the Bluejays with a 199. Collins added a 193 while Howard bowled a 188.
Elmhurst dropped its first match of the tournament in a 918-839 loss to Robert Morris University. Collins paced Elmhurst win the loss with a 192 while Warwick bowled a 191. The Bluejays closed Saturday with a 903-866 loss to Midland University. Collins led the squad with a 190. Bialk added a 187 and Bogdanich bowled a 180 in the loss.
Sunday's format consisted of two-game total pinfall Baker matches that counted toward total pinfall but not with win/loss records.
Elmhurst rolls at the Greater Ozark Open on October 28-30.
