BALTIMORE, Md. - The Elmhurst College bowling team upped its record to 39-57 overall by posting a 6-4 mark at the Morgan State University Invitational.
On Saturday, the Bluejays finished with 4-3 overall record in six contests. The Bluejays were downed by Hampton University 913-827 despite
Sarah Paul rolling a team-high 187. Elmhurst then fell to Virginia State University 859-632.
Shannon Grimes paced Elmhurst with a 213 in the defeat. Elmhurst won it's next three contests, toppling 12th-ranked Kutztown University (930-849), Howard University (862-733), and Buthune-Cookman University (802-663).
Alyssa Vogler rolled a team-leading 204 in the win over Kutztown and then paced the Bluejays with a team-leading 209 against Howard.
Ann Bialk bowled a 192 to lead Elmhurst over Buthune-Cookman. The Bluejays closed out Saturday by falling 673-658 to 18th-ranked Florida A&M University in a total-pinfall Baker match.
On Sunday, the Bluejays fell to second-ranked University of Maryland-Eastern Shore 744-618 in a total-pinfall Baker match. The Bluejays bounced back to topple Cheyney University 667-436. Elmhurst closed the tournament with a pair of win in best-of-seven Baker matches. The Bluejays downed 19th-ranked Norfolk State University 4-1 and then rallied from a three-game deficit to defeat St. Peter's College (N.J.) 4-3.
