Elmhurst University Athletics

A 1978 graduate, he transferred to Elmhurst after attending the College of DuPage where he was selected as a first-team Junior College All-American.

A two-time letter-winner at Elmhurst College, Gaucius was a second-team NAIA All-American at offensive guard his junior. Halfway through his senior year, he was switched to fullback, where he was a factor in the team ending its season on a high note by winning five out of the last six games. Gaucius served as captain his senior year and was voted Co-Most Valuable Player of the football team.
