Staci Barton played a major role in helping to shape the Elmhurst College women's soccer program. In its first year as a varsity sport in 1996, Barton, a goalkeeper, helped guide the Bluejays to a 13-7 overall record. In her four years, the start-up program has a combined 41-33-4 record and posted a double-digit win total three times.
Barton was a three-time all-conference selection in goal, earning first-team honors in 1997 and 1998 and second-team honors in 1999. She established school records for career shutouts (24.5) and single-season saves (172 in 1999). While those marks have since been eclipsed, she continues to hold Elmhurst records for saves in a single game (25 saves vs. Wheaton in 1997) and career saves (580).
