After transferring to Elmhurst prior to his junior season, Rob Daggett made the most of his two seasons with the Bluejays.
Daggett was named the CCIW’s Player of the Year in 2003 and Co-Player of the Year in 2004, becoming the first player in conference history to earn Player of the Year honors in consecutive seasons.
A two-time first-team All-Region selection, Daggett put on a power display in 2004, setting Elmhurst single-season records for home runs (14), RBI (60), extra-base hits (29), total bases (121), and slugging percentage (.823), earning first-team All-American honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) in the process.
Daggett earned back-to-back first-team all-conference honors in 2003 and 2004. During the 2003 season, Daggett also earned second-team all-conference recognition as a pitcher.
Daggett set the Elmhurst single-season record for doubles with 18 during the 2003 campaign. In just two seasons with the Bluejays, Daggett is Elmhurst’s career leader in slugging percentage (.786) and ranks second in career batting average (.417), third in home runs (21), sixth in extra-base hits (55), seventh in RBI (110), and 11th in doubles (31). He also has the second-highest career-winning percentage (.786) as a pitcher by compiling an 11-3 overall record in two seasons.
Daggett was also a success in the classroom, earning back-to-back ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors. He was a third-team selection in 2003 and earned first-team honors in 2004.
