Rich Dziemiela was named Elmhurst College's Athlete of the Year in 1976 and became the first Elmhurst College baseball player to be drafted in the MLB draft. Dziemiela played third base and shortstop for CCIW Championship teams in 1975 and 1976. He hit .397 with 31 RBI during the 1976 season.
