A member of the inaugural Bluejay Backer Hall of Fame Class in 1980, Pat Lira wrote his name all over the men's basketball record book in his career as a Bluejay.
A four-time all-conference selection, Lira closed out his career as Elmhurst's all-time leading scorer with 1,914 points. His record continues to stand today.
He also set career records for most field goals (695), most free throws (524), and most rebounds (927).
Lira also established a single-game record by scoring 39 points against the University of Chicago on January 17, 1953. He also set single season records for points (543 in 1953-54) and field goals made (209 in 1953-54).
