A two-time first-team All-CCIW basketball forward (1995-96 and 1996-97), Jones ranked in the top ten in the CCIW in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. He was the conference field goal percentage champion as a junior with a .603 percentage. Jones led the team in scoring and rebounding during his junior and senior seasons while earning two CCIW Player of the Week honors as a senior.

Jones ranks among the school's leaders in several categories. He ranks fourth all-time in career field goal percentage (.589), tenth in field goals made, and 14th in scoring (1,223 points).
