Elmhurst University Athletics

Goebel, a 1976 alumnus, lettered in both football and wrestling. Twice he was named all-district defensive tackle and was honorable mention all-conference and all-American during his senior year. He served as defensive captain his senior year. During his sophomore and senior years, he won conference championships in wrestling in the 190 lb. class. Both times he was voted the outstanding wrestler in the tourney and qualified for nationals.
