A 1965 graduate, Denny Hotle was a four-year football letterman who established the standard by which all other Bluejay quarterbacks are measured-including his school record of 16 touchdown passes in 1963 in an eight-game season. Denny finished his career as Elmhurst's career leader in TD passes at 26, passing yards at 2,026, pass attempts at 292, pass completions at 129 and total offense at 2,513 yards. The Bluejays posted a .563 winning percentage (18-14-1) over his career, including records of 7-1 in 1963 and 7-2 in 1964. Although his records have since been eclipsed his presence is still felt in the Elmhurst record books.
