Brian McConnell enters the Hall of Fame as a four-time All-American in men's indoor and outdoor track and field. McConnell also concluded his career with seven CCIW individual championships and nine all-conference honors.
During his sophomore season in 2007, McConnell captured individual CCIW titles in the indoor mile and the outdoor 1,500 meters while earning All-America honors in both events. He placed fifth in the nation at the NCAA Championships in the indoor mile and added a fifth-place national finish in the 1,500 meters.
In 2008, McConnell won an individual CCIW Championships in the indoor mile and outdoor 1,500 meters and then scored a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships in the 1,500 meters to collect the third All-America accolade of his career.
McConnell closed out his senior season by winning conference championships in the outdoor 800 and 1,500 meters and the indoor mile. At the 2009 NCAA Championships, he turned in a personal best 4:09.30 performance in the indoor mile, finishing second in the nation and earning the fourth All-America honor of his career. He was also named the CCIW's Track Athlete of the Meet at the outdoor championships.
A four-year member of the cross country team who ran in the Bluejays' top-seven, McConnell set an Elmhurst and CCIW record in the indoor mile and added an Elmhurst school record time in the 1,500 meters with all three records still holding today.
