ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's track and field team totaled seven points to place ninth at the 2017 CCIW Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
Three Bluejays earned all-conference honors with top-eight individual performances.
Victor Ogbebor scored one team point and earned all-conference honors by placing eighth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.98 seconds. Ogbebor also placed 15th in the 200 meters in 22.77 seconds. Ogbebor also placed 14th in the long jump with a mark of 5.93 meters.
Two Bluejays earned all-conference honors in the throws.
Jim Robley totaled three team points and took home all-conference honors with a sixth-place finish in the javelin. Robley's throw measured 48.48 meters.
David Michaels picked up two team points and earned all-conference honors in the shot put. Michaels placed seventh in the seventh in the event with a toss of 13.71 seconds.
Two other Bluejays earned top-10 individual finishes, just missing all-conference honors in the process.
Juan Castaneda placed 15th in the 5,000 meters in 16:09.14. Castaneda narrowly missed all-conference honors in the 10,000 meters, placing 10th in 33:12.04.
Jacob Boyko also just missed all-conference honors in two events, placing ninth in the javelin (46.72 meters) and placing 10th in the discus throw with a toss of 40.36 meters.
Elmhurst added a point in the 4x100 relay with an eighth-place finish in 46.12 seconds.
