BELOIT, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's track and field team totaled 59 points to place sixth out of 11 teams at the Beloit College Relays.
Victor Ogbebor and
Juan Castaneda were the top individual finisher for the Bluejays. Ogbebor placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 11.53 seconds. Castaneda scored eight points with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:59.67. Ogbebor added six points in the long jump with a fourth-place jump of 6.07 meters.
Jacob Hubbard placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.70, registering five team points for the Bluejays.
Joe Rivas and
Dan Wiggin combined for 10 points in the 1,500 meters. Rivas placed third in 4:14.21 while Wiggin crossed the finish line in fifth place with a time of 4:17.20.
Elmhurst's relay teams combined for 11 points. The Bluejays' 4x100 relay team of Jake Taheny,
Jacob Annala,
Jimmy Kolb and Ogbebor finished fourth in 46.55 seconds. The 4x400 squad of Rivas, Kolb, Hubbard and
Kevin Otte placed third in 3:48.83.
Elmhurst also recorded points in two throwing events.
Ian Perkins scored a third-place finish in the shot put, recording a toss of 12.20 meters.
Jacob Boyko placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 35.97 meters.
