LISLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's track and field team returned to action by competing at Benedictine University's Eagle Invitational. The Bluejays tied for 28th place in the team standings with three points.
Juan Castaneda totaled all three points for the Bluejays with a sixth-place finish in the 10,000 meters. Castaneda crossed the finish line in 34:32.51.
David Michaels had a top-15 finish in the shot put, recording a toss of 44-0 to place 14th overall.
Ian Perkins added a 22nd-place finish in the same event with a toss of 42-0.
Jim Robley scored a 12th-place finish in the javelin, recording a throw of 150-9.
Zach Taylor added a 22nd-place finish in the same event with a throw of 132-10.
Ricardo Mora placed 24th in the discus with a throw of 124-2.
Jacob Boyko finished 28th (116-8) and
Andy Ciesla placed 30th (116-2) in the discus.
Elmhurst's 4x100 relay team of
Jacob Annala,
Tyreese Riley,
Jimmy Kolb and Jake Tahaney finished the race in 45.91 seconds to place 16th.
Elmhurst competes at the Concordia University-Chicago Invitational on Saturday, April 22.
