OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Elmhurst men's track and field team opened the 2017-18 indoor season by placing sixth at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Earlybird Invitational.
The Bluejays totaled 15 points to place sixth out of eight teams. UW-Oshkosh won the team title with 240 points while Carthage placed second with 86 points.
Zach Taylor picked up six team points for the Bluejays with a third place finish in the 800 meters. Taylor crossed the finish line in 2:13.14.
Jacob Hubbard scored four points for the Bluejays with a fifth-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 56.06.
Geno Passarelli added two points with a seventh-place finish in the shot put, recording a toss of 38-9.5.
Ian Perkins finished just behind in the shot put, scoring one point with an eighth-place finish. Perkins throw measured 38-7.5.
Ricardo Mora scored the final two team points for the Bluejays with a seventh-place finish in the weight throw, recording a toss of 40-0.5.
Elmhurst competes at the Lewis University Invitational on January 12, 2018.
